A four person team mounted on horseback while a herd of numbered yearlings is behind a line. Three riders shall act as herd holders. As the fourth rider approaches the line the announcer will call a number which has been drawn for them. The roper cuts their numbered animal out of the herd, drives it across the line and proceeds to rope it. The animal will be headed and heeled then put down on its side. When the steer is on its side with all four feet pointing in the same direction, a member then simulates doctoring the steer by marking the animals head. Time stops when the animal has been marked. There is a two minute time limit.
